A temporary committee established for restoring the Sudanese Journalists Union issued a statement condemning the detention of the journalist Ali Al-Dayir and his camera crew during their coverage of the recession of the White Nile in Khartoum.

Authorities pursued the arrest of the young female activist ‘Ludun” after charges were filed against her for posting a video on her facebook page during the million man/woman parade that was staged on 30 July 2020.

The Sudanese Journalists Union has today issued a press statement in which it noted an alarming increase in the frequency of journalists being stopped at checkpoints and bridges and obstructed from pursuing their reporting and coverage, as well as disrespect and a lack of appreciation for their work by the authorities.
