At the 32nd special session of the Human Rights Council on the human rights implications of the ongoing situation in the Sudan, the Council adopted Resolution A/HRC/S-32/L.1 in which it condemned in the strongest possible terms the military takeover on 25 October 2021 by the Sudanese military against the Transitional Government and called for the immediate restoration of the civilian-led Transitional Government.

The number of detainees in South Darfur since the military coup has reached (36), most of whom are from the alliance of The Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC).

Following the military coup, on the morning of October 25, authorities arrested dozens of citizens, including journalists, politicians, and activists.

The Ministry of Justice, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, organized a workshop on the draft law of the Human Rights Commission at Al-Salam Hotel. Maulana Omar Muhammad Ahmad Al Dhurair, a legal advisor at the Executive Office of the Ministry of Justice, said that this workshop seeks to discuss the draft law of the human rights commission - one of the commissions stipulated in the constitutional document.

The correspondent of Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper in Khartoum, Muhammad Amin, revealed in a post on his Facebook account that he was assaulted by a major general in the army while covering a protest procession organized by lawyers.
