Due to lack of liquidity, White Nile teachers receive no allowances and incentives for more than a year
Incoming news from the White Nile indicated that lack of cash in banks resulted in non-payment of salaries for teachers for a year. In this context, and according to the daily Al Mighar newspaper, the head of the teachers union in Rabak, Mr. Abdullah Mohamed, said the Ministry of Finance in the state has cleared all the entitlements of teachers but lack of liquidity in banks delayed the payment.
He said: “we met with the manager of the branch of the Central Bank of Sudan in Kosti, and he promised to provide liquidity to solve the problem and that on 10 October teachers will received all arrears.
In September, secondary school teachers in the White Nile staged a vigil protest in front of the Ministry of Education to push for the payment of their arrears of allowances and incentives they have not received for more than a year.
