Emergency Order Authorizes Regular Forces to Arrest, Search and Detain in Blue Nile State
In accordance with the decision of the governor of the Blue Nile region to declare a state of emergency in the region, the decree authorized the regular forces to arrest people and search and seize property.
Authorization was granted to the security forces to enter any building, inspect people, impose control over property or facilities, and seize money, shops, and goods suspected of being legally violating until an investigation is conducted around them. It is also prohibited to regulate the movement of people or their activities or the movement of objects or means of transportation and communication in any area and time.
The emergency order also stressed the arrest of persons suspected of participating in a crime related to the emergency, and the suspension of immunities. The order was given to the Chief Justice to establish emergency courts.
