Facebook shuts down pages targeting Sudanese
Reuters reported that Facebook has shut down two large networks targeting users in Sudan for being linked to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and being populated with people who were allegedly flagged as supporters of Bashir agitating for a military takeover.
Across both networks Facebook found posts to be mimicking news media but offering skewed coverage of political events.
The takedown comes against a backdrop where disputes and tension between civilian and military leaders have over the future of an interim power-sharing arrangement have been on the rise.
