Increasing trend of journalists coming under attacked by authorities
Members of the Military Intelligence prevented the journalist Muhammad Mustafa, from covering a tribunal event for the late poet Mohamed Taha Al Gaddal taking place in Khartoum, and placed him under arrest.
Mustafa pointed out that despite revealing his Press credentials , the military intelligence personnel refused to admit him to cover the event and directed a traffic policeman to file charges against under the pretense that he obstructed them from carrying out their duties. The media advisor of the Prime Minister who was present at the scene intervened and persuaded them not to follow legal proceedings and the matter was resolved.
