A temporary committee established for restoring the Sudanese Journalists Union issued a statement condemning the detention of the journalist Ali Al-Dayir and his camera crew during their coverage of the recession of the White Nile in Khartoum.
Workers at the port of Soba in Khartoum state, staged a strike in protest of the low wages and the refusal of the Sudan Customs Administration Authority to allow them to establish a union which might negotiate with the authorities on their behalf.
