Hamed explained that a police force attacked and assaulted him during his coverage of the first day of the civil disobedience last Sunday and the closure of the streets in Burri area in central Khartoum.

The incident of the attack on the photojournalist of "The Independent Arabia" indicates the return of the fierce attack on the press and the suppression of press freedoms in light of the military coup control of power in Sudan.
