Police Forces use heavy handed tactics to stop a forum
Local opposition and change committees have condemned the authorities’ tactics to stop a forum from taking place. The forum was supposed to be held in a local square in Khartoum, and the members from the forces of freedom and change were supposed to discuss the ongoing political situation in the country. However, 30 four wheel vehicles from the authorities occupied the square and prevented the attendees from attending the forum and even assaulted some of them. This is a clear violation to the right of assembly that is preserved by the interim constitution of Sudan 2005, under article 40.
