Price of paper material crops up

According to Sodafax, the prices of input of newspaper industry have risen steadily, and due to the high rate of exchange of the dollar in the parallel market, the price of one ton of imported paper has shot up. Al Ashiqa printing press stated that the cost of printing newspapers increased and that would result in a loss for the newspapers. The manager of the printing press attributed the weak purchasing power of the newspapers to the fact that the newspapers do not cover the needs and criticized the pre-print censorship and other restrictions imposed by security authorities on newspapers.

Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights states: “Everyone shall have the right to hold opinions without interference. Everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of his choice”.
