Protestors met with tear gas and arrests in front of the Council of Ministers
The protest was organized by the Resistance Committees Coordination Committee for Khartoum State, and was staged to convey discontent with the track that the revolution was taking under Prime Minsiter Hamdoks government.
Descending on the Council of Ministers headquarters in Khartoum, the protestors were met with tear gas and arrests. According to reports “Organizers said the protesters were furious after Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok sent an aide to meet with them instead of coming out in person”. The Lawyers Union issued a statement on Tuesday condemning the violence committed by the police and called for the immediate release of all detainees.
