Sudanese Journalist Network: Security forces still detaining Journalists
The Sudanese Journalist Network has stated in a press statement released on the 9th of April that National Security forces continued to detain Journalists during the past weeks, a common practice since the beginning of protests in December 2018. This continuous violation of journalists rights has impeded the right of freedom of expression in the country. According to the interim constitution of Sudan for the year 2005 “Every citizen shall have an unrestricted right to the freedom of expression, reception and dissemination of information, publication, and access to the press without prejudice to order, safety or public morals as determined by law.”
