A police force kidnaps a journalist
The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate announced its rejection and condemnation of a police force taking a journalist from his workplace in a manner it described as “humiliating” and amounting to the crime of kidnapping and illegal arrest.
The syndicate stated in a statement on Wednesday that a police force took the journalist, Ahmed Gasm Al-Sayed, in a humiliating manner, amounting to the crime of kidnapping and illegal arrest.
According to the statement, the police force arrived at the headquarters of the “Al-Hirak Al-Siyasi” newspaper in Khartoum, in a shaded car, and took the journalist “Ahmed” by force into the car, after handcuffing his hands with handcuffs and taking away his mobile phone.
The incident is among more than 70 violations against male and female journalists, which the Syndicate of Journalists monitored recently.
