Rise in enforced disappearances and extrajudicial detention of about 120 detainees
The Emergency Lawyers Committee for protest detainees announced an increase in enforced disappearances and extrajudicial arrests by the security services, shortly after the state of emergency was lifted. After their visit to a prison in Khartoum, the lawyers revealed that there are 20 detainees and (100) on hold detention.
The lawyers pointed out that one of the police station officers refused to implement the orders of the Public Prosecution to release 15 detainees, as they were transferred to another police station.
