"Women Subjected To Physical Abuse for Resisting Coup" Reveals The Combating Violence Against Women Unit

The Director of the Combating Violence Against Women Unit revealed that women were subjected to what she described as the worst forms of oppression, beatings, killings and detention, for their active participation in the peaceful resistance to the military coup on October 25, and in achieving democracy and civil rule. She has also expressed concern over the achievements during the past two years, especially the draft law on combating violence against women, in addition to implementing Security Council Resolution (1325) related to women's participation in the decision-making process.
