The intelligence service arrested singer Mazen Hamed and his colleague Muhammad Hamed, members of the Aswat al-Madina band, from inside Mazen's studio in Khartoum.
The security services arrested a crew of three people, affiliated with the British BBC Arabic network, who were delegated to Sudan, and took them to an unknown destination before releasing them hours later on the same day.
The Central Committee of Sudan Doctors issued a report on the total number of dead and injured from October 30, 2021 until January 17, 2022
The report revealed that three people were killed and 616 sustained various injuries. The report pointed out that the authorities used various types of tear gas canisters, sound bombs and live bullets, which were aimed directly at the demonstrators.
The Councils of Sovereignty and the Ministers, in a joint meeting, approved the budget for the year 2022. The Minister of Finance said in a statement that the budget witnessed estimated increases in the wages of state workers, but he did not disclose their value nor any figures within the new budget.
